Thirumudi Utsavam and Kalasam (season closing)
The Kalasam date is fixed afresh each year, usually in Edavam (May-June), when Kalarivathukkal closes the Theyyam season. Last season it was held on 14 June 2026 (Edavam 31), per DTPC Kannur and the temple notice on kolathnadu.in.

About Kalarivathukkal Bhagavathi Temple
Family temple of the Chirakkal (Kolathiri) royal house on the Valapattanam river, dedicated to Bhadrakali as Kalarivathukkal Bhagavathi, the guardian of the kalari (martial arts arena). The Theyyam here, together with Madayi Kavu, marks the traditional close of the Theyyam season in Edavam (late May / early June). The Bhagavathi appears with her "five children" theyyams.
