A laterite plateau that turns blue with Kakkapoovu blooms after the monsoon; the Vadukunda lake, Madayi Kavu and an ancient mosque.
Madayipara is a flat-topped laterite hill near Pazhayangadi, famous for its seasonal wildflowers, over 300 plant species and 100 butterfly species. On and around it are the Madayi Kavu (Thiruvarkkadu Bhagavathi temple), the Vadukunda Shiva temple with its hill-top lake, the ruins of a Kolathiri fort and the Malik Dinar mosque of Madayi, one of the oldest in India.
