About Aadoor Sree Panachikkavu

Two sisters, Arya and Poonkani, came along with the Bappurans who protect the sea and river. They were beaten and ousted from the household where they took refuge. The household came to be known as Thatchirakkal Tharavadu (The Manor which beat them off). The sisters who were ill with fever stumbled upon a place where they took refuge. This place was later called Panachikkavu. The Nagadevatha here is prominent. Many years ago as many as 41 Theyyams were staged here.
