About Thekkumbadu Sree Kurumba Bhagavathy Temple

The story is that the Azheekodu Nongengara Sree Kurumba Kavu Bhagavathy came and established herself at the site where the temple now stands. Travelers can reach the temple by alighting at the Valapattanam Cherukunnu Thara stop and travelling two km to an area behind the Thekkumbadu Annapoorneswari temple. Though some renovations have been completed, the temple retains many traditional architectural aspects of its structure. A four day festival is celebrated on the first half of the month of Kumbham every year.
